January 2020 Playlist + A Few Words.

Coronavirus has spread, killing hundreds of people. Extreme wildfires in Australia, burning down homes (over 2000 homes), killing humans, over an estimated billion animals and their habitats. And most recently, the absolute heartbreaking and devastating news delivered on the morning of Sunday, January 26th– Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Bryant killed in a helicopter crash, among 9 other lives. I’ve been typing that and erasing for the past hour. My heart and love go out to Vanessa, her family, and all the other families involved.

It has been the toughest month of the new year for all humanity. This was not how the year was suppose to start, and not at all how I imagined to wake up on Sunday morning. This viral news has left me, and many others, with a feeling of emptiness and, has impacted us to carefully think about the energy we put in towards our days. The last few days have been such an eyeopener on how we can not take things for granted. Our next mornings and evenings are not promised. We should wake up thankful and blessed every day because we don’t know what can happen in a matter of seconds from the minute we wake.

The month is now over, so let’s move forward stronger than ever, braver than ever, and chasing our goals more than ever. After all, tomorrow isn’t promised, so live your best life every day, be kind to one another, support each other, love as much as possible as you can and count your blessings.

This month’s top-ten playlist includes songs picked from my Darkest Hour playlist on Apple Music. These are songs I listen to when I need to be in a quiet space, I’m feeling down, or just for those rainy days.

Top 10 Playlist: December 2019

This is the last playlist I’ll be posting for 2019. Wow. We’ve been blessed with so many great albums this year from amazing artists; So Much Fun by Young Thug, Free Spirit by Khalid, Over It by Summer Walker, Hollywood’s Bleeding by Post Malone, Norman F–king Rockwell by Lana Del Rey, Chixtape 5 by Tory Lanez, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial by Roddy Ricch, MONTANA by French Montana, Death Race for Love by Juice WRLD, Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever by Fabolous, Born 2 Rap by The Game, and ASTROWORLD by Travis Scott.

Damn, there was A LOT of good music this year and good singles out too. Aside from the hottest albums that were released, there was also a ton of heartbreak in the music industry this year. Rest in Paradise to the legendary Nipsey Hussle who passed away at age 33. #TMC.

Recently we lost Juice WRLD, a 21-year-old rapper who released a fire album this year, Death Race for Love. Hip-Hop culture also lost Mac Miller at age 27 and XXXTentacion at age 20; his last album Bad Vibes Forever was released recently. Praying that this does not continue happening in 2020 to the young and rising talent in the music industry.

With that said, here is a list of my Top-10 songs for this month. (In no particular order).

Heartless – The Weeknd

(I can not wait till this album is released. My favorite artist!)

Moonwalkin – Roddy Rich (feat. Lil Durk)

I couldn’t decide which song to add from this album because they’re all SO good. This song, Peta, Perfect Timing, Start Wit Me, Boom Boom Boom, are also my favorites. If you haven’t yet, go listen to this album.

Jerry Sprunger – Tory Lanez & T-Pain

No F*cks – 1TakeJay (feat. Sueco the Child & AzChike)

Fallin In Love – Lil Yatchy (Feat. Gunna)

An oldie, but fell in love with it again.

Back Out – 24hrs (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign & Dom Kennedy)

Own It – Stormzy (Feat. Ed Sheeran & Burna Boy)

Talk To Me Nicely – Fabolous (feat. Meek Mill)

Last Name – Future (Feat. Lil Durk)

The Take – Tory Lanez (Feat. Chris Brown)

My Top 10 Songs This Week

THIS WEEK’S TOP TEN SONGS.

Follow my Crusin’ Playlist and more on Apple Music.

Sit back, relax and scroll through the top ten songs I’m bumpin’ this week.

TIME (FEAT. PRESSA) – HOUDINI

The beat says it all. Houdini’s verse after Pressa’s is FIRE! Pressa kills it too, I always knew he had potential.

“He talkin’ all that ’cause he shared it on the internet but I ain’t with that.”

ON GOD (Feat. Young Thug) – Juice WRLD

Chicago rapper Juice WRLD released 22 songs on his Death Race For Love album and each song has the dopest beats. This one’s definitely a favorite off the album, featuring Young Thug.

“Bringin’ you new Chanels, don’t look at the tag, baby.”

Numb Numb Juice – Schoolboy Q

One of those songs that make your head bob… the entire song. Wish it was longer than 1:55.

“I might get life, that’s on my life.”

Summertime Magic – Childish Gambino

Imagine driving a convertible on the sea-to-sky highway with your hair blowing in the wind and holding the hand of your significant other. That’s exactly the vibe of this song. Get ready to get in all your summer feels.

“You feel like summertime, you took this heart of mine..”

Hear Me Calling – Juice WRLD

Another hit by Juice WRLD. This music video just dropped a week ago too, check it out.

“You love me to death even when I’m a mess.”

Bad Girls (Feat. Gucci Mane) – Lil Skies

“Chills down her spine, she play it back like rewind.”

I – Lil Skies

Love this song. Might move up on my list next week.

“Shine so bright in a world so dark.”

Racks in the Middle (Feat. Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy) – Nipsey Hussle

I’m feelin’ this, and I’ve always been a huge fan of Nipsey Hussle.

“All this money, power, fame and I can’t make you reappear.”

Girl’s Best Friend (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign) – 2 Chainz

I wasn’t feeling this album much, but here’s one song from the album I played often.

“They say diamonds, a girl’s best friend.”

Swervin’ (Feat. 6ix9ine)

I am in love with this entire album. Enough said. (But I mean I wish 6ix9ine wasn’t in this song…) A bit old now though, so don’t be surprised if it moves off my list next week.

“How you look so perfect on your worst days?”

Stay tuned for next week’s top ten.
