As the weather begins to tease us with warm days, it’s time to get your closet prepared for summer and what better way to do that than finding the perfect summer pieces on sale?

I don’t know about you, but my wardrobe is getting filled with sale pieces from Ardene this season. I had the chance to splurge on these cute items that were 30-70% off! Take a look below how I styled my outfits.

The Minimal Dress

When in doubt, always go with a minimal dress because there are numerous ways you can style it. This linen overall dress is 40%, priced at $16.14, and can be dressed up with heels and jewelry, or kept casual with sneakers and a denim jacket.

These accessories are also from Ardene’s. I am obsessed with these small white hoops that add a pop of color to this adorable look. And it’s a must to have a classic fedora in your closet this season.

This outfit is completed with my Faux Leather and Mesh D’Orsay sandals, which are 40% off, priced at $20.94.

Mix and Match for Summer

Summer and sale are my two favorite “S” words, and when you can find an entire outfit, head to toe, on sale, that’s pure happiness.

I am in love with this polka dot baby blue top. I’ve styled this top off-the-shoulder with a small knot folded inwards, but you can wear it on the shoulders with no knot, or create a small bow. There are so many ways to wear this top, with a denim skirt, flared pants, or a pleated skirt, like I’ve styled it.

Your Guide To Shopping For Spring 2019

With daylight savings passed, it’s official, Spring is truly around the corner which means it’s time to prepare your wardrobe with new trends and color tones for the warm season. From minimalism styles to neons and animal prints, here are this season’s must-have fashion trends.

The Neon Palette

Neon clothing is a bold trend for Spring and I can’t complain because I am loving this trend. I just bought a neon pink cropped top from Aritzia the other day and noticed that they have a large collection for neons available in store. Many stores are embracing this trend including Zara, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 and more.

Minimalism is Key

When you hear minimalism, you instantly think of a neutral palette and contemporary looks. Minimalism trends include soft shades such as off-whites and khakis. Here’s a look at a few of these styles that you can find in stores near you.

Tiger Print

As if we haven’t seen enough animal print already! Although the popular leopard print will still be seen throughout spring/summer this year, it’s time to welcome another animal to the game. Say hello to tigerskin prints, an emerging trend this season. From wool sweaters to dresses, this versatile print is seen everywhere.

Boiler Suits

When I heard “boiler suits,” I thought, what the hell is that? And then I saw popular bloggers embrace this head-to-toe trend and I fell in love. It may not be my go-to style for a jumpsuit, but it’s definitely a trend worth exploring. These suits typically have a drawstring or belted waists, as seen below. ASOS has a large collection of boiler suits.

“”For effortless, powerful style, there’s nothing like a boiler suit,” says Vogue‘s shopping editor, Naomi Smart.”

Colorful Knits

Yes, bring on the colored trends! Neon is definitely going to be a favorite trend of mine this month, but what’s better than exploring new shades of bright colors, especially when they come in cozy knits. These knit sweaters can be styled casually with mom jeans or dressed up with long skirts.

STATEMENT HANDBAGS

Animal skin print has been seen everywhere this year and the rising trend of reptile skin is definitely a favorite. Small clutches and embroidered drawstring bags can dress up any outfit for NYE. Find these handbags at local stores near you including TopshopForever 21Anthropologie, and Zara.

FASHION TRENDS THAT WILL BE OVER BY FALL 2018

Remember jeggings? Or blinged low rise denim? There’s a reason we don’t speak of those “trends” anymore. Trends come and go in the fashion industry and this summer may be the last season that you’ll witness some of these popular styles.

After hours of researching what trends will last beyond the next season and which will not, we’ve narrowed our list down to the top 6 trends that will disappear by this Fall.

CHOKERS

There’s no doubt that everyone was wearing a choker necklace when this trend reappeared last summer. From famous celebrities including Rihanna and the Kardashians to Instagram bloggers, choker necklaces were seen everywhere. These versatile necklaces were first made popular 500 years ago… it’s safe to say that we can put this trend to rest now.

Why is this trend coming to an end? Chokers have had their moment in the fashion, but new jewelry including statement earrings will replace the famous choker.

THE CHOKER DRESS

Wait… is it a choker or a dress? Either way, this trend needs to go. Just when we had thought we’d seen enough of choker necklaces on Instagram, out came the choker dress. Don’t get us wrong, we have seen various versions of the choker tops and dresses, and some are very stylish, but enough is enough. It’s time to move on, ladies.

CORSETS

The corset trend is as dead as Rob Kardashian’s sock company. The odd trend of wearing corsets over your dresses was cute when Kylie Jenner styled it with her FashionNova fit, but it was definitely a miss rather than a hit for the masses. As much as we enjoyed seeing this trend emerge and the different ways fashion icons styled a corset, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s time for this trend to step down.

SNEAKER WEDGES

Wedges and sneakers? Yes, this did happen. There’s not much we can say about this trend other than it needs to go. Fashion brands including Michael Kors,Puma, and Isabel Marant have all come out with their own versions of the sneaker wedges, but this look is just not doing it.

It won’t be long before we see these sneakers disappear. Afterall, haven’t you heard that dad sneakers are the newest and hottest sneakers in town?

FESTIVAL FASHION

If Vogue said it, we believe it. According to Vogue, “Coachella street style is officially over.” This means that you’ll have to step your game up at music festivals this summer and stay away from basic trends including flower crowns, or any floral for that matter, fringe and feathers, cowboy boots and tie-dye looks.

ac2a8fae6583745533c045ee744f99bc-334x500.jpg

Step out of the box and try new trends for summer festivals this year. Tassel earrings, wicker bags, Bermuda denim shorts, and gingham print dresses are all styles you can try this season.

MULLET SKIRTS

Yes, we’ve all been there. Mullet skirts, also known as “high-low skirts,” were definitely in style for a long period of time. However, as we’ve mentioned before, not all trends last.

The mullet skirts typically appear during summer, but this year, the revival will be fleeting. Ladies, substitute your mullet skirts for chic pleated skirts instead!

There you have it, the list of items you may want to take out of circulation from your wardrobe after this season. Remember, some trends do come back in better versions, and if you’re not ready to let go of your favorite mullet skirt or flower crown, then pack it away for now.

SUMMER 2018 FESTIVAL FASHION: WHAT TO EXPECT

Music festival season is upon us and there’s no summer festival like Coachella. America’s flagship festival, Coachella, is more than just celebrities, music and selfies. Instagram has been taken over by brands advertising “festival fashion,” that we can hardly wait to see what our favourite bloggers will be wearing this year at the biggest music festival in North America.

Los Angeles based fashion brand Revolve is known to have its own hashtag during Coachella season: #REVOLVEFESTIVAL. This retail brand went from hosting two-influencers, Julie Sariñana of Sincerely Jules and Song of Style’sAimee Song, in a single rented home to now purchasing an entire hotel with over 140 rooms for fashion bloggers and influencers to stay.

Whether it’s Revolve or H&M’s festival looks, there’s no denying that Coachella is every sun-worshipping blogger’s paradise. Over the year’s we’ve witnessed trends including flower crowns, fanny-packs, bralettes, circular sunnies and festival season signature “boho” looks. Although these trends were perfect for Coachella in the past years, it’s time to move on and bring forward new styles.

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AT COACHELLA 2018:

CIRCLE-SHAPED BAGS

From catwalks to music festivals, the circle-shaped bag is every blogger’s must-have bag. The trending straw circle bags are this seasons favourite and they sure do add a touch of style to any spring look.

Brands such as BalmainMansur Gavriel and Chloé have released their versions of the circle-shaped bag. These minimalistic bags are perfect to take to summer festivals, allowing you to carry all your important essentials in style.

“THE BIGGEST SHIFT IS THE MOVE AWAY FROM BOHO TO A FEW THINGS THAT ARE MORE URBAN, MORE ECLECTIC, MAYBE MORE VINTAGE,” NOTES WGSN RETAIL EDITOR SIDNEY MORGAN-PETRO. “BUT THAT ALSO REFLECTS THE SHIFT IN WHAT FESTIVALS WE’RE LOOKING AT FOR INSPIRATION.”

CAT-EYE SUNGLASSES

The cat-eye sunglasses add a retro update to this year’s festival trends. According to WGSN, “it merges with the 1990s Kurt Cobain look that has been popular at summer music festivals such as FYF Fest in LA.” Although we love our circular and aviator sunglasses, we’re ready to take on this new cat-eye trend that screams summer chic.

Even Gigi Hadid is on board with this trend. It’s official, we must own these sunnies.

SPORTY WAIST-PACKS

The fanny pack just got a whole lot better and we are obsessed with the new sporty look to it. We’ve seen it on the catwalks and street style, there’s no escaping the return of fanny packs! The youthful sporty waist-pack is a must-have for the festival season. High-fashion labels including KenzoGucci and Louis Vuitton have brought the fanny-pack back to life and it’s been Vogue-approved.

WESTERN BOOTS AND BELTS

Western boots and belts have become staple items to wear at summer festivals. The Western belt trend has been modified with coin detailing and can be worn with dresses, skirts, and denim shorts. Wink Gal offers an amazing selection of these belts!

Yes, beauty is a pain, however, if you’re spending a weekend dancing and walking, then you’ll definitely want to invest in a pair of fashionable yet comfortable shoes to wear. Western booties with a small heel make for the perfect pair of shoes to wear to festivals. And remember to wear shoes that you’re not afraid to get a little dirty.

Bucket hats, print dresses, mini metal round sunglasses, layered pendant choker necklaces, wide-leg pants and off-the-shoulder blouses are all trends that you will see at Coachella this year. Now the only question left to ask is, will Kylie Jenner, queen of wigs and all things fashion, be at Coachella this year? We can’t wait to see what celebrities and bloggers will be wearing to the biggest music festival of the year.
