Renegades Outfit

The rain in Vancouver won’t stop me from dressing up and getting that perfect #ootd post. Especially today as I got to rock this edgy street style look. I am obsessed with this outfit. I wore my H&M “Renegades” top tucked into my comfortable Aritzia skirt. There’s something about wearing a leather jacket over your shoulders that gives you a chic and powerful feeling. Also, styling chunky necklaces with t-shirts is always a good choice! I wore my H&M Coachella-inspired necklace with this top. Don’t let the rain stop you from going out in style.

Spread Love

Happy November! With only two months left of this year, it’s time to reflect back on the New Year’s resolutions you set and ask yourself how many goals you’ve accomplished in 2017.

This year has had its ups and downs. From terror attacks around the world, hurricanes damaging homes and a corrupt U.S government system, it’s hard to imagine what possible good came out of this year.

Throughout the madness that spanned over our world, the one thing I noticed was how amazing it was seeing people get together to help one another in society. After the Las Vegas shooting a month ago, the next day hundreds of people lined up to donate blood.

In the midst of dark times, we (society) stuck together. Even when millions of Syrian refugees had to pack their lives and flee from their homes, many Canadians welcomed Syrians with open hands and smiles.

You never know how drastically things can change. I’ve been dealing with letting go of negativity around me and not only surrounding myself with positive people, but becoming a positive person.

Spread love, not only today but everyday from now on. Be nice to people. You never know what someone is going through. A simple smile towards a stranger can change their day for the better!

I could go on about positivity and being a better person, but then this blog post may turn into an essay. Make these last two months of the year amazing!

How to Layer for Fall

The temperatures may be dropping in Vancouver but that shouldn’t stop you from wearing that pleated skirt you just bought or your new ankle strap heels.

Sure you just spent all your savings on a brand new coat, (probably from Aritzia), but that doesn’t mean you have to be cuddled up in a coat all day long! Here are a few ways to layer your clothes this Fall.

The New Way to Wear Skirts

It’s amazing how every season fashion stylists discover new ways to wear a classic skirt. Would you ever think of wearing your long knee-length skirt over your denim jeans? Well, imagine it! This is a trend that a lot of New Yorkers follow during Fall.

This may be a bit overwhelming for a few of you, so instead of daring to take this fashion risk, you can substitute denim for leather leggings. Skirts over leather leggings not only look fashionable, this look will also keep you warm.

On a chilly day, you can also wear tight fitted shorts or midi-leggings underneath your skirts. Lululemon has a great selection for these items! Here’s my look from today:

I styled my oversized crop sweater with my pleated skirt and accessorized it with a choker and black booties. My sweater was large enough for me to make it an off-the-shoulder top!

More Knits, More Warmth

Layering your knit sweaters with cardigans is a given for this season. Get your hands on a couple long cardigans that you can wear over your sweaters and underneath your coats. Try complaining about the cold then!

The bigger, the better. Now add a blanket scarf to your outfit and you’re Fall-ready!

Heels with Socks

Now this has to be one of my favourite trends of all time! Seriously, whoever started this trend is a genius. Wearing socks with heels just made fashion easier and cozier.

And there you have some of my favorite tips and tricks on how to stay layered this chilly season. For more Fall fashion looks, keep up with me on Instagram!

Fall in Aritzia

October is the best month for bloggers to take perfect Fall pictures. With leaves turning orangey-brown and grey skies, this cozy weather calls for pumpkin spice lattes and knit sweaters.

This season my wardrobe consists of bomber jackets, wide-leg pants and of course Fall sweaters!

The Wide-Leg X Crop Look

These Babaton Clifford Pants are my favourite pants to wear! They’re super comfortable and it feels as if I’m wearing sweats. Definitely worth having these pants in your closet this Fall.

I wore my pants with an H&M crop top, styled with the ‘Golden by TNA‘ Bomber Jacket and a pair of $10 sneakers from the Las Vegas outlets! Yup, best $10 I spent because these sneakers are ridiculously comfy and they’ve still lasted me over a month! *Insert happy face emoji here*

Joggers X Bralettes

I am so digging the joggers and heels trend. Seriously, bless the fashion guru behind this idea. Which better way to be both relaxed, comfortable and stylish at the same time?!

Leather Tights & Knee-Highs

Get yourself a pair of knee-high boots, because they are this seasons must-have footwear! I love pairing my boots with my Aritzia leggings and knit sweaters, other ways to wear this boots for Fall are with sweater dresses and denim skirts.

Hope everyone’s enjoying their Sunday!

A.M to the P.M… funk.

Work. School. Gym. This Fall semester is draining but my days are going by quicker than ever! With five classes, working in Gastown, Vancouver and still making time to get a workout in, I’ve never been so exhausted and happy to be in bed by the end of my long days.

It’s definitely not easy and I wouldn’t recommend taking five third/fourth year courses if you’re someone who can’t handle a large workload and/or long commutes to work afterwards.

Here’s what my day-to-day routine looks like:

I typically begin my mornings with a protein shake. Some days I’m able to make a morning boot camp class at House of Gains, and other days I get my morning shake ready and go to the gym later in the evening.

For my shakes, I fill up my bottle about halfway with water, add a scoop of chocolate protein and one teaspoon of peanut butter, just because I love peanut butter and it gives it that extra flavour. You can substitute milk for water, however, it does become heavier. I prefer water because it’s easier to drink, especially in the mornings.

I tend to not wear much makeup during weekdays, usually because I don’t have time to put on a full face of makeup. I have lash extensions done which saves me a whole lot of time getting ready! (The best decision you’ll ever make.)

My minimal makeup routine consists of the following products: Smashbox concealer, ABH eyebrow dip, lipstick and blush, if I’m feeling extra! Concealer saves my life every morning. Once my makeup is done, I’m out that door and not home till late.

My days are spent at both Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where I’m majoring in Journalism, or in Gastown, where I work as a Social Media Coordinator at a private institution. As you can tell, my days are long and I’m always on the go.

Time management and organization is key. These two tips will get you through your long days as they do for me. Since I take the skytrain to work, I have a good 40 minutes to work on homework or write blog posts on my iPad mini 4!

As soon as I get home from school and work, I rush to the gym and get my 30-45 minute workout in. My time at the gym typically depends on how tired I am. By the time I get home I usually only have time to eat and sleep.

Some days I’ll have time to catch up on light-reading or if I have a lot of homework to do, then I’ll be making a trip to Tim Hortons for a large black coffee. There are days where I get a max of five hours to sleep, but I’ve always been the morning typeyou get used to it.
